also i wonder what percentage of us is still rural compared to, again, Hungary (or Turkey, or...) a lot of the "swing" has been in our exurbs and suburbs and idk if that translates as well everywhere. place I'm really eyeballing morbidly right now is the UK. just one rake step after another
like technically we're in a worse place now of course. but as much as people wail and rend their garments over the Dems, I say overall the party's in a MUCH more robust place than Labour, in or out of power. overall this sort of seesaw of normal/fascist happening everywhere isn't sustainable
