Culturally the US has brains on rails and a rigid govt policy on Israel. That kind of tunnel vision worries me a bit. Good at technical stuff but bad with social stuff hence Trump et al and the failure of Iraq 2.0 and Afghanistan. Of course the UK in the last days of empire fucked up too.
