Follow this up with Playboy interview soon after in 1990. Wheeeewww boy. Fascinating stuff

Absolutely. Proof that Nostalgia is actually a disease.
Trump WENT TO MOSCOW in 1986 as a “guest” of the KGB. He came back extolling the virtues of Soviet Russia. He was already married to a Soviet citizen. He is Krasnov. That’s the simplest, best explanation. Everything makes sense when you apply Krasnov’s mission to his actions.
Does this explain why he threw Ivana down a staircase and then buried her on the back nine of a golf course?
I'm pretty sure it broke again when he got Twitter
Wow. Great take on this. The decorating style example really hit home!
Man, you see the 30 for 30 “Small Potatoes” about him and the USFL? I watched it in like 2012 and thought “I hope this ass doesn’t become president.”
I mean, just look at his playlist!
Was just discussing this era in the context of law firms losing their identities and searching for a sense of place ever since.
What brian?
Yeah it was a real revelation recently to notice that two of his seemingly most sincerely-held but obviously incorrect beliefs - that crime is out of control and that Russia is a great power - actually do fit the world of the late 1980s.
Also the threat of Japanese companies
I read his 1990 playboy interview, and I was surprised to see how little his views changed and how many of his typical 80s worries still dominate his ramblings today. www.ebroadsheet.com/wp-content/u...
It's weird because he's old but he's not *that* old. He was 42 or 43 in 1989 and most people's brains last longer than that.
Most people couldn’t afford the amount of snow he and his set were doing in that era either.
Not when his Emotional Intelligence stalled and has remained at chronological age 14.
OTOH, his family has a history of early-onset Alzheimer's, so the first subtle impacts could be a major factor; it may have "aged" his brain prematurely. That might also have paired with his personal failures (bankruptcy & divorce) to freeze his perspective there.
