East Ham also has one of the most thoroughly decent and hard-working MPs ever, while we had Galloway for a while. So maybe there's a connection there...
Ok, if we're going to be serious about it then I am pretty out of date as I haven't lived there for 15 years, but even then Brick Lane had developed a habit of fast turnover of second-rate curry houses. Meraz on Hanbury Street was always top-notch, been there in the same family since '74.
as of when I last lived in TH a few years' ago, Lahore II was still quite good!
