For extra feel good points consider buying a used ereader off eBay and reducing your Ewaste footprint :)

I got a kindle before they were even available in Canada. It's still alive and doing great. I won't replace it anytime soon.

I think I bought my kindle in 2010 (kindle keyboard). So it's 14y old. I don't want to support Bezos, but the alternative to his online retail seems to be Temu. I don't trust that at all.

eBay is great as is direct from mfg and plenty of local sellers carry ereaders

Well, I don't need an ereader. Mine is fine. But other things I buy from Amazon. Similarly in Canada we want to deny Loblaws but I struggle bc I find their products are the best and they often have the best sales & price match. So how do I leave? The competition isn't any better.
