Trump is using prescription drug as a way to destroy the Judiciary. First, he got rid of the Biden plan that lowered the cost of 10 drugs, then he announces he is lowering all drugs 30-80% (knowing from his first term that the court ruled he couldn't force companies to lower prices).
Trump will now claim the courts stopped the lowering of drug prices and are acting against the American people. Next, he will blame the courts and call them liberal, and this will continue to shift public opinion against the courts.
Then he will call for a new court system like Hitler (Gleichschaltung) did in 1933, co-ordination, in which all of German life was brought under Nazi party control. The MAGA party judiciary, used to enforce his will and arrest his detractor and jail them. This is all Hitler all the time.

Some have Long Term care and some not at all. It really is bananas per state.
One state may have a Medicaid program for DOC prisoners and another not at all. One may have a program for Autistic kids and another not at all. Some have block X grants (Fed grant) for certain programs or not at all. Some states will pay for our of state hospital visits and another not at all.
Every state is not equal in Medicaid programs. For instance one state may only have physical health program and no behavioral health program. One state may have integrated PH & BH. Another may have specific Medicaid Disability program (DDD) and another no disability program.
I am remote in rural Midwest coming from the west coast. It's ridiculous poor here, everyone depends on Medicaid, Medicare, SOC. So many no monopoly farmers will go under and they won't be able to find another job. All the rural communities have going for them is AG, Walmart, Amazon, General Dollar

I work with the developmentally disabled. Medicaid pays for their housing, staff, healthcare. These are not people that can go get a job. They’ll be homeless. I’ll be homeless because I won’t have a job. I personally know over a hundred people whose lives will be destroyed by this legislation.
And even if someone can work eventually, medicaid often helps in recovery efforts if theyre sick, hurt, or have high needs.

There's still an important question here: What if the deficit isn't sustainable? There are "nice to haves' and there are "have tos". With government bureaucratic bloat, some cuts should always be possible, without harming real value created.

The fundamental mistake these people are making is in thinking that the US exists independently of the world economy. "Trickle down" requires that you be contributing to systems that are creating value. Chinese standards of living have gone up a lot, because they are doing more. (Simplification)

I think it depends. For a mature industry, you're likely better off with economies of scale, and thus consolidation. For industries that are young, with learning ongoing, it's too early to try and consolidate. Random example: American Tobacco Company being broken up, "increased" consumer prices.
Stock buybacks should be taxed at 150%. If it's that important, make them pay.
It may be easier for you to understand this if you think of putting out stock in terms of taking out a mortgage against your house (and its ownership). Especially in times of uncertainty, or when you have no immediately better use for your money, you're better off paying down the mortgage.
We don't do that with massive tax cuts. It's also not the best way to fight two wars, as W did. The answer to everything is not another tax cut. We have an aging infrastructure issue to solve, and tax cuts don't solve it.
I agree with you, in that most government decisions shouldn't be made carelessly or at too large a scale, without testing. And that there are investments worth making. Fundamentally though, what the country needs is "growth". Even though I don't agree with Trump, that the US was a sinking ship.
There are myriad ways to cut spending and identify waste (start at DoD). What is happening is not a good-faith effort at honest analysis or implementation. Cutting essential services, breaking risk-moderating regulations, and destroying safety-net programs are a completely different agenda.
I'm actually inclined to say that it may be in good faith, "but without much analysis". The problem is that DoD spending can't be cut enough. Most of the real spending is in entitlements and national debt. Ideally, more analysis should be done, but you probably are still going to have to go there

Truth. I haven’t seen any movement by the Democratic Party to do anything. I live in Massachusetts, a bluer than blue state and supposedly are doing their jobs in opposing this. But I have not seen a consensus plan to oppose the republicans. Not even a failed plan.

Gov Newsom has become a disappointment along with Senator Cory Booker. I wasn't happy that the day after his record long speech of protesting Trump and DOGE, he voted to fund Israel another 8 billion in April after 8B was sent in Jan. This attack on Palestinians is inhumane and disproportionate.
