My favorite book of all time is The Stand. I love all his books!
My favorite book of all time is The Stand. I love all his books!
I love all thing Stephen King, but I have to say “The Stand” is by far my favorite. I have read it three times and recently watched the series. It’s so relatable to what is happening in today’s world. It offers hope.
Came here to say the same. The Stand. Of course. For a time such as this.
I read The Stand twice...both versions, and watched both series. I really enjoyed the mini series from the 80/90's. It was really well done and matched the book perfectly. Has anyone read The Talisman? King co-wrote with Straub or Koontz (can't remember which one it was) Also a favorite book!
It's Peter Straub. Just found my book. Maybe I'll read it again.
My copy of The Stand eventually fell apart from old age!
My absolute favourite as well. Read it twice, once in Finnish and once in English. Pondering if I should read it again...
Probably yes. But also: pretty much all his other books.
The current political atmosphere coming from this administration always brings to mind the scenes with Cathy Bates’ character in The Stand.
Plus one on The Stand. My mom re-reads it *every* summer, and I envy her for that.
You know that is my favorite Stephen King book, but Stephen King actually hates the fact that everybody loves that book
It’s definitely his worst book, I love Stephen King but The Stand is horrible, absolutely zero likable characters, dumb dues ex machina ending, annoying religious themes, weird anti-tech and sexism, the worst example of “magical black person” and “magical disabled person” tropes, just awful!
Hopefully you read the original and not the version that he changed and re-released
No never read the original, only the newer extended version
Precisely.
