Here in S Texas there is a large segment of the Hispanic populace that voted for this! 'The Leopard Eating Faces party won't eat mine.' It's mind bending.

Bonkers. We have our own Leopard-voters too. Especially childbearing-age women, even some LGBT. I know a gay couple who were die-hard GOPers their whole lives who loved to punch down on trans people. Sympathy on them is a waste of energy. But the whites around here absolutely wanted all this.

I think people are just horrified that something like that just isn't fixable and it comes out in misplaced sympathy. But it's an insult to Black voters, to Jewish voters, to Trans people, to EVERYONE Lefty to sit there and pretend that areas *out to kill them* are not really what they are!

That OK family I spoke of are hillbilly evangelicals, meaning they don't have divinity training & they pass the preaching job in the church down to their kids. My SIL's husband died, the son who took over is a pothead + gets SSI, as does his wife, because he's depressed (because he's a pothead).

Yep. Lots of people in my area simultaneously on drugs (usually alcoholics) and also vote for the War On Fentanyl. Lots of veterans around here voted for that guy too. Really does answer the question every day of how the 1940s happened.

Absolutely. They put their own marriage in red-alert danger EVERY election they pulled that lever for! I think it's mostly comfortable cishet whites that are doing this no-reading-comprehension "votes are irrlevant! the people didn't ask for this! we shouldn't vet voting! stop being so mean" thing.

My youngest worked in OK quite a bit. He swears people from there are some of the stupidest people he's ever experienced and he's worked all over the world, including the jungles of Papua New Guinea.
