yeah i got the 1/2" bauer brushless with the 5ah pack. picked up the angle grinder along with it to get the bike chains cut off, and had to go back (to buy angle grinder discs lol) and went ahead and grabbed the drill/driver. im all in baby

i think bauer is the one i have too and that battery has sat in my trunk for 6 months and still held a charge
it didn't have the nuts to take off the lugs from my dad's f350 dually but it's never struggled on my car even when i've had dipshit mechanics go too hard on the ugga duggas
That’s weird b/c my Bauer 1/2” with the 5AH battery was able to remove 159 ft lbs axle nuts the other day when set to Full Send mode
I also have the 1.5AH battery that I bought for use with my drill, and when paired with either of my ugga duggas they produce noticeably less power.
since we're on the topic, anybody got takes on torque sticks? i mean obviously theyre not lab equipment but would it be smart to pick up a set so i don't accidentally friction weld a lug nut on?
unless its in like inch lbs you're probably fine just not going ham with the impact. the real use for them is to make sure you're going ham enough
10-4 gotcha
also some of them are straight up lab equipment. there are torque wrenches in the thousands of dollars
I've got this adorable little fella for the inside bench. Originally bought it to torque the screws on an Epyc CPU mount, now i use it for mounting red dots and also being a dick about my PC case screws. Actually came with a signed calibration sheet and all, close enough for government work
They’re fine for getting in the “close enough” range. It’s easy to overtighten lug nuts with a 1/2” impact gun, especially when you’re new to using them.
i suspect like 95% of my impact usage will be counterclockwise. i got ratchets and breaker bars and whatnot. Ive got the Cheap 1/2" torque wrench and yeah i know it's not good, but it's better than not having a torque wrench. I might upgrade that idk.
Yep, I chose the Bauer over the Hercules because it was cheaper, but also b/c the batteries can be used with a lot more stuff. Got an angle grinder, a drill, a handheld power washer, etc, and they all use the Bauer batteries.
i had analysis paralysis over this shit for YEARS cause i was worried about buying the wrong one and lighting $400 on fire. sounds like i chose wisely then!
I’ve got a Harbor Freight pre-Bauer electric ratchet that I wanna replace with a Bauer one. Electric ratchets are great when you have to remove long bolts or have to remove a bunch of bolts that don’t need the power of an ugga dugga gun.
