okay let me put it another way. It's fine to have contrary or divergent opinions on things, especially art. However, just the act of publicly stating that the entire 5 decades of one of America's greatest homespun art forms is shit... it raises questions. Like why even say that? hence my reaction
Just throwing out there that the question wasn’t about genres. I want to love Billy Strings but I don’t bc I don’t like bluegrass. Not complicated. It’s about what artist do you think you should like but you actually can’t get into.

OK fair. I have invested a lot of time in trying to appreciate the art of hip-hop. I am aware of the work that goes into it and the culture that brought it into being. I just don't find much of it *enjoyable*. I get that Chop was looking for artists not a genre. Maybe I should have just said Jay-Z.
