can only assume the reason they can pretend fascism can be placated in this way, despite this historically not working with fascism, is that they imagine their beloved 'moderates' they wish to appeal to aren't part of fascism

so much western analysis of fascism is aimed at placing it with a foreign Other, rather than examining the systemic and structural roots in colonialism and classical liberalism.
