To anyone over 40, the defining image of intafada is Palestinian suicide bombers. I don't think Mamdani wants to destroy Israel. But it was an unforced error to defend "intafada" rather than to say, "Israeli attacks on Gaza and Iran should have the world reassess its relationship with Israel."

I don't know where you heard this, but I'm over 40, along with most of my friends and acquaintances, and this is not true.
