The two motions I put forward and won to have the city develop a Rental Renovation Licence By-law are finally resulting in action. We expect to vote on a final renovictions bylaw in the spring. It can’t come soon enough. ottawa.ca/en/city-hall...

Little Ottawa housing history lesson: decades ago (mid-80s?) 1/3rd of the seniors' public housing units sat empty. Increases in OAS through GAINS meant that the market worked for that income bracket. Many buildings were changed to age-mixed.
