There are lots of churches that help people, at least in the south. But they’re not the mega churches, they’re not the big evangelical “prosperity“ preachers churches.

And most of them still hate Democrats. I live here. There are 18 churches within the limits of this small city of 5,000, and another 25 within 10 miles. The only evangelicals here who voted blue were black people. Even the few mainstream (liturgical) churches in the area are conservative.

I don't care if a church helps people when they have hate in their heart for those who don't share their beliefs. I don't care if the church helps people if they vote for evil people. I don't care if the church helps people if they don't provide a safe space for the vulnerable to worship.

Out of all the churches in this area, only one provided a separate room with windows that opened for the MASKED vulnerable and their families to sit in during worship services. One. They all bragged about never shutting their doors during the worst part of the pandemic. How is that Christ-like?

How is it Christlike to tell your parishioners if they don't vote for a man who has violated every commandment and more, you're going to hell because he's God's choice; to demonize those who are different; or to sit in church on Sunday morning and thank God for the felon and his agenda?

Picking one thing and insisting it turns bad actions into good ones doesn't make any sense. "Whatever you do for the least of these, you do for me" doesn't come with qualifiers. It doesn't exclude certain gender identities, skin colors, or belief systems.

If their hearts are turned against certain people because of their lifestyles or beliefs, then what they're doing is performative. Their generosity is conditional. "We'll hand out the food relief agencies give us to distribute, but don't come to our church because you won't be welcome here."

I've watched churches like you mentioned refuse to help families with their rent because the parents aren't married. Would Jesus do that? I've watched them marginalize single mothers because they left an abusive spouse, quoting the first half of a verse that also speaks out against abusive men.

Sorry, but I've seen and experienced way too much to believe these people want to do anything more than the bare minimum required to keep them out of hell based on what they believe Jesus said in Matthew 25:31-46 -- and most of them aren't even doing that.

True. Some of the worst of humanity r the religious. They abuse, oppress women, r greedy beyond belief, child sexual abusers & they seem to have no empathy for anyone. Religion was created by men, changed over time to accommodate their control wants, then used to get rich off the foolish worshippers

I realize that. Unfortunately the Evangelical, Baptist… charlatans running these control churches are evil. They’re liars, greedy, thieving, child sexual abusers & why they aren’t shut down by the gov’t is beyond me. They spread hate & fear & abuse ppl. Then gov’t rewards them with tax exemptions. 🙄

It's not just evangelical Baptists, but Church of God, Church of Christ, Nazarene, Methodist, Assembly of God, Pentecostal, Apostolic, Holiness, Full Gospel, charismatic, & non-denominational. We have conservative mainstream churches as well - Episcopalian, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Catholic, LDS...

I could go on, but you get the idea. Branches of several of these denominations support inclusivity and tolerance, but in many areas, those congregations don't exist. This especially applies in the south. There are very few liberal churches here - none less than 40 miles away.

I know. I just used these two because they seem to be two of the worst. It’s ALL of them including Moron, Scientologists, and Jehovah Witnesses. Religion is the biggest con job in history.

Evangelicals include Baptists and the other non-mainstream (liturgical) churches I mentioned. Evangelicalism is a movement, not a denomination. They claim to believe in the necessity of having a personal relationship with Jesus, whose teachings they refuse to follow because "they're woke."
