I’m not familiar with that priest, but I can see how some zealots could accept evolution. They simply rationalize the process as condensed time. Of course, evolution doesn’t prove or disprove any of the deities that man has created.

Evolution is not contrary to faith in God... Like with everything...He helps Evolution... But these can be complicated issues sometimes... The Big Bang Theory...lol...very complicated and very interesting...
