Why would Trump need to stay the course on this? Hasn’t Ghislaine Maxwell already effectively delivered her message through the WSJ? If Trump’s personal DOJ can make a deal with her, won’t the WSJ just turn to laundering what they want made public?

I haven't actually read the article, and I doubt the orange clown has either, but I was under the impression its point was how Jizzlane sucked up to epstein by doing things like producing that book as a birthday present, not its content's veracity.

This is an autocratic power move to assert Trump's authority over all of media, and a warning to media that's already on his side to stay in line. He expects capitulation like that from CBS, not to go to trial.
