I’m convinced he’s repeating talking points from the 80s Mariel boatlift. It was claimed Castro emptied patients from mental institutions, put them on boats and pushed them toward Florida. Most all of his framing seems to be from the late 70s to mid 80s so it fits.

I don’t think it’s deliberate, I go into deep vintage references and allusions. If you know you are doing it, it’s fun. If you don’t—well he seems to have stopped doing asking things in.

This makes sense. His whole frame of reference is bits and pieces of stuff he recalls from the 70s/80s all jumbled together in his brain that burbles out in this hallucinatory word salad.

I mean, that is fairly consistent with the claims of Dementia. Many Dementia patients have VIVID and accurate memories of a very specific timeframe (my grandfather could've told you prices of stuff in his garage in 1956 but didn't know his own name) but just can't form new memories.
Indeed. And I have tremendous empathy for those suffering with that disease and their families. But DJT is so vile and mean, I will save my empathy for the people he hurts.
