🤔? I will admit that it has been more than a few years since the last time that I sat in Latin class. But, “I came (arrived) and smiled with us”, or, maybe, “I came (arrived) and (we) smiled with / at each other”…? I guess it grammatically makes sense. But what am I missing here? 1/2

If what I am “missing” is the use of “veni” to refer to coming in any sense other than that of arriving, then Caesar would have been quoted as saying, “Vidi, vici, veni”, n’est-ce pas? (No personal knowledge…)

My sense of humour can sometimes become a bit... esoteric. It is an amalgamation wordpun in both English and Latin at the same time on the theme of cum being multilingual and veni. And I bet that Caesar "arrived" a few times in his life. Alea ejecta est...
