That Vance's wife is smarter, harder working, and more ambitious and successful than he is (at least before Peter Thiel made Vance his pet, and NPR told everyone Vance's book was great) may be just as much a problem as her skin color and immigrant parents, and certainly compounds that problem.

More importantly, I don’t think Republicans in Congress are nearly as intimidated by Vance as they are by Trump- and I think they would probably not be eager to continue ceding all power to the executive. They will all play nice for a few weeks to “honor” Trump but the power struggles will end that
