The Lincoln question struck me. I would have answered like Prager U. From my understanding of the letter to Horace Greeley, Lincoln stated that if he could save the union without freeing any slaves he would have taken that course of action. Happy to be corrected highschool was a long time ago

It's a misleading question. The Civil War was fought to preserve the Union, but at the same time the only reason the Union wasn't intact was the slavery issue.
