Just to further add.... you can trace that back to the ref letting things go because this was hyped up into some sort of grudge match. Thankfully VVD didn`t end up with a snapped ankle. When refs refuse to control the game, they lose control of it.

It was reviewed by VAR (obvs) and despite previous experience, I was convinced at minimum would be penalty and yellow card, so *extremely* blatant was it.
