Whilst Europe had been fighting #NaziGermany since 1939, America chose not to be involved, except for selling billions worth of equipment and ammo to the European allies, incl. Russia. By the time Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, the US military industry was strong, AND rich.

Only after Japan’s first strike (7-DEC-41) the US joined the fight also in Europe, with forces they had been able to build bc of the delay. Obviously the 250,000 American lives lost in the European theater should be honoured as a sacrifice for the free world, not “just” as a bail-out of Europe.

I doubt America as a country was much worse off after defeating the #AxisPowers, establishing itself as the pivotal force in the “#FreeWorld”. At least, until DJT and his goons took over…
