📰'At the time, Labour First Minister Mark Drakeford said he "could not imagine voters in Gower backing such a candidate". ' Narrator's voice: 🗯️Cllr O’Brien went on to come second in the 2019 general election.

Gower has always swung between Labour and CONservatives... she represented the CONs at the time (the party she defected from) and that's what the constituents voted for, not who!

It seems wrong that they can change horses mid-course like that. If I'd voted Cons and my representative defected to the likes of Reform, I'd be quite cross. Although there's not that much difference really.

When a defection takes place, from whichever party to whichever party, as a point of fairness to the electorate, there should be a by-election. Switching allegiance mid-flight is unjust.
