This is a storyline in ‘Mountainhead’
This is why we need a wealth tax
Sus as fuck
don’t you hate it, when you accidentally fund coups for unstable African countries?
clearly this guy's tax rate needs to be increased, he doesn't even know which side he's throwing money at.
if you ever get a burger at Charlie's kitchen in Harvard square you know how much people love to make ambitious plots around there
Man I hate when my human rights activism accidentally buys stinger missiles. Can’t believe this happened to me again! Last time it was this nice Saudi construction heir
His Wikipedia page reads very differently. It makes him sound like a somewhat prominent peace activist. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_B...
I am ignorant but it looks astroturfed to me - just one paragraph about the international weapons smuggling conspiracy charges haha
Yeah could be either at this point. If he was defrauded it makes more sense now as the person who defrauded him seems actually prominent. If not and this is astroturfed, that would also make sense.
Ok so read the article George attached. It sounds to me like the peace activist (who Kasparov, yes that Kasparov, also supported) gave up on peaceful methods of addressing South Sudan's awful government and democratic backslide. Understandable, but also a bad decision.
He who hasn’t accidentally funded a coup cast the first stone
