I don't think "25% of Caddies sold are EVs" is a stat that...anyone really has internalized. Or that "Chevy is the #2 US EV brand".

I rented a 2025 Chevy Silverado 4x4 over the weekend -- worst in-cab experience, ever. Made for someone HUGE, I am not small but felt small in the driver's seat. The AFM was so finicky, it had no prediction to make cylinders shutdown at any normal rate, and it generally felt "clunky".
Of course, also, Caddie brand sales were low and sinking as older buys exit new vehicle market so it was easier for them to have higher EV share as new younger entrants to brand finally had an option
This despite the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX outselling the GM Lyriq and Blazer, which are essentially the same vehicles
Volume. When your manufacturer only sells 2 EVs and they're rebadges, you're not going to see huge overall volume, vs GM selling like a dozen EVs across brands. The U.S. press obsession with single model volume kinda does us a disservice as they rarely report on manufacturer total sales like this.
I see a lot of those electric equinoxes about here in Jersey
I was just going to say this, they are everywhere. I'm not a huge GM fan but they look good too.
A friend of mine who is an MD traded their Lexus for one. Anecdotal for sure but they have some momentum.
I think the cars are all good. I think the dealer experience is where it all falls apart when there's an issue. As a Ford EV owner I went through three dealers until I found a decent one.
Costco auto program running a rebate till August 4th for Chevy EVs. It also has great range ~318 miles and is priced so cheap after rebates
have seen very few so far down here! EV Sierras and Silverados also uncommon, whereas I see Rivians, Lightnings, Mach-Es, and IONIQs quite a lot.
Starting to see a fair number of EV Blazers here in OH.
That’s been my experience in Arizona as well. I got to drive an IONIQ last year and those things offer a lot for the money.
Chevy was our #2 US EV brand, then they killed the bolt, which is partly why the growth number %'s are so large, and what allowed Hyundai to rise to #2.
Just imagine what they could do if they enabled carplay.
Or hadn't killed the bolt when it was on track to hit 100k units last year!
Just got myself an Equinox EV through the Costco auto program
I wish they would put CarPlay back in. Would get the Honda version of the blazer just for that
Remember GM's chief economist speaking at the Chicago Fed's forecast symposium back in December 2021. She said 75% of the company's employees were working on EVs.
Might be a more damning indictment of Cadillac's general sales. They've been struggling since the start of covid to re-establish their identity.
The new cars are nice looking though.
Yep: Korean automakers too. Might be wrong but the Japanese manufacturers seem to be slower on the uptake here?
Two things. 1) their biggest automaker, Toyota, entire profit model is mundane ICE engines with very slow update cycles (inverse of EVs) 2) zero real support nationally for EVs thus the industry fallows
On #2 that surprises me, would have thought the Japanese were very pro EV
You would think, being an island nation that fought wars over fossil fuel availability, and with extensive electrified HSR, but Japanese carmakers, like US carmakers, love to stymie progress.
Toyota made a big push for hydrogen fuel cells. I don’t think they’ve been successful so now they’re playing catch up.
I think yours is a good take from what I’ve read. They bet on hybrid too.
anecdotally, I see a lot of Rivian trucks near where I live and I must say that is a fine looking vehicle.
Will get an equinox ev as next lease. Just waiting until they are NACS
I saw so many Chevy Bolts while driving around Quebec this weekend it blew my mind a bit.
I saw two parked at EV charging spots in a parking garage and my brain short circuited for a few minutes.
I'm in the Midwest and I would absolutely say outside of a Tesla the most common EV I see is a chevy.
I rode in my friend's Lyriq and it's a stunning ride.
nice, I *hate* the styling but glad it's a good ride
Front half is cool... clearly the rear needs restyling. Feels very luxurious and "tight" inside (unlike a TSLA).
crazy how they turned it around after the Blazer rollout nightmare. but bolt/equinox were so smart. cannot believe Ford let their early advantage get away without a small, cheap one.
Inept leadership 🤷🏽♂️
Traded in for a Lyriq last year and my wife liked it so much she demanded Santa bring her an Escalade IQ for Christmas. They’re both great cars.
