All time great ticker symbol.
What does that expression mean?
Ok so maybe it’s a play on if it sounds like a duck and wick’s like a duck then it’s a duc So in this case is duck=a robust ipo market? Or maybe peak crypto? That’s the best I got
Is that good?
I will continue to argue that the volume of IPO’s is the signal rather than the performance of any given deal.
I mean, it's not "any given deal", it's a parade of these things!
Show me the volume vs 2021 and maybe I’ll agree.
The equal-weight S&P 500 is up 4% YTD. Small caps are flat. You know this.
The way you get more IPO volume is you have a parade of deals that are way oversubbed and moon. I'm just focusing on a leading indicator rather than a coincident one.
Also IPO issuance is up 62% versus this point last year, and we're trending above any year other than 2019-2021 (only 9.5% below 2019 on that basis). There is absolutely a noticeable increase in IPO activity, IDK why it's even vaguely controversial to observe this.
Oh, activity is certainly up, not arguing that.
Wall Street adage. "When the ducks are quacking, feed them" It's a reference to the idea that strong demand is met with new supply of risk; demand begets supply. Important for understanding the current sentiment of markets (which is currently, uh, frothy).
Ah, thank you!
Come on, Bull-ISH? Come on, man.
Can you tag me if bear season ever decides to show up ?
