I think the expectation was that we'd all set up custom handles using domain verification eventually... bsky.social/about/blog/4... (it seems unlikely though)

That's fine. But I'm talking about just showing it. Like when linking to your profile it makes sense. But I think for everything else it just seems weird

This site is fundamentally different from other social media. We've forgotten in the last decade but the web runs on domain names, not proprietary handles.
