No they know they're wrong. Hence the mask. They don't want to have to be called out to their face by either family or a neighbor. They love the violate peoples right stuff; but they hate feeling the consequence of their fascism.

I believe this. When the country has truly fallen, they masks will come off, literally. Right now, they're still very concerned about being held accountable for their actions.
