It really should be, but you have to remember that the average voter is a low-information voter. The other key is that *it is possible to have multiple compelling arguments at once*. When "facism bad" and "we have something better" are both true, saying only the first one is throwing away the game.

You're right about media coverage. But I also think Mamdani's example (and, regrettably, Trump's example) are very instructive on how Dems can break through. Many people mainly get their news from social media now. While that's mostly a bad thing, it does offer a huge opening for electoral strategy.

Sure, but you're also misunderstanding what I'm saying. I'm not interested in exonerating voters for making bad choices, that'd be silly. But managing these sorts of low-information voters is also a primary project of electoral politics, since inevitably, they're the ones whose choice is in flux.

No, this isn’t a strawman argument. ‘Status quo’ has an explicit meaning and anyone who claims the ‘status quo’ of ‘21 to ‘24 as their impetus to not vote or vote for Trump needs to actually address if the current situation is better than that. I’m not coddling grown ass adults over this.
