This also reminds me of arguments why people didn’t vote for Harris. Yes, there are myriad reasons, but the most obvious reason for a big swath of voters is almost never talked about with any seriousness: people who can’t bring themselves to vote for a woman.

Nothing gets explained away more frequently than misogyny. "They didn't like her policy stances from early in the 2020 primary!" Yeah sure that's it.

Add efforts currently underway among Dem influencers to focus on eliminating "woke" words because "unhoused" sounds too snooty and turns off "moderates". Let's not overlook the obvious. So-called moderates, Repubs, and many Dems won't vote for a woman. Senator or governor yes, president never.

I believe even Hillary at some point acknowledged (clumsily) the “implicit biases” all white people, including herself, have regarding race. I’ve never heard a man in politics offer any self-reflection re: their internalized gender bias.
