Not a joke. They have centuries of history with Russia. Sometimes they were the bully even. They take defence on a budget very seriously.

I've been a fan of Scandinavia since an interest in the history of WWs 1 & 2 in my mid-teens lead to an interest in their general history, cultures, etc. If I'd had the self-confidence in my youth, I'd have done uni in either Denmark or Sweden,mastered the language & (ideally) emigrated.

Their history is full of warfare and deals to split Lithuania and Poland. Which Russian and Austrian empires matched. It’s fascinating how they found a way to peaceful coexistence and their polices after wwII I wish North America had emulated. Canada did some of it but we have too much US influence
