What are your favorite regional fall traditions? In the Philly area (I think it's a Pennsylvania Dutch thing) we tuck a little doll of Billie Joe Armstrong into bed and everyone has to whisper in the room he's in until 12:01 AM on October first when we run around and shout and set small fires.

We also eat a dish we call "brain stew" but it's actually just powdered sugar, coconut, and cinnamon.

In Los Angeles everyone sets off fire works every night. They do this during the hottest and driest months before we get the first rain. Some call it “controlled burns”
