As a US MAGA and UKReform supporter I say bring it back. All that woke fun and green space improving peoples wellbeing shouldn't be allowed.

Where's Pike St?
Unfortunately, you can't see it from this picture, but they still decided they needed a 6 lane road on the waterfront, in addition to digging a really expensive set of highway tunnels underneath it. It's still a car-centric waterfront, though for sure better than before.
ten thousand times better than that POS AWV!
build for people, not cars! pedestrian areas strengthen culture and retail. They are good for everyone!
Looks great, until the ice caps melt.
I used that road once about - oh 20 years ago. I thought then it was a ugly stain.
and it is also smart planning from an environmental resiliency perspective. Brooks running through towns, lake and ocean front should all be publicly owned and shared.
Put the automobiles underground. Save the up-top for the walkers and ebikes.
Nice! Was last there in 2019, will have to go back soon.
It’s pretty cool.
Dude, I really need to get back. I loved it there.
Alternate headline: contrast normal Seattle weather with a sunny day in seattle
Bahaha very true. Needs a grungy/sepia filter on the before one.
It's been a awhile since I've lived there. What is the traffic solution to the cars no longer taking Alaskan way? Is it just more on i5 or do you have legit train service now or what?
I'm a Seattleite and I'm pretty certain the bottom pic is a rendering, buddy
It’s a legit photo, not a project render. Top photo, swipe to see the overlook walk viewpoint by Seattle Times photographer. Must be a “stand here to get a great shot” place. www.seattletimes.com/pacific-nw-m...
It's legit. Here it is in higher res, right from Seattle EcDev: bottomline.seattle.gov/2025/02/11/t...
On the other hand, I don't want that many people around.
yep. They really screwed up Philly with I95 - just cut it away from the water.
Wow, I think I remember seeing that in progress on my senior trip. Looks great 👍
That looks a little too 'communisty' to me! 🤔
$10 bucks says that photo was taken during 'Hemp Fest'.
I've never even heard of Hemp Fest mate, so i am gonna take you at your word, and decline the bet! 😉
Great to see this-on of my fav towns to visit. Hopefully the last of the Robert Moses types are dead and buried as his ilk ruined so much of urban America.
Less pollution and more space for community engagement. Instead of adding toxins let's increase the oxygen Beautiful ❤️
Can you get to the water?
There's a public pier "Pocket Beach" if you'd like to take a dip.
