I don't know why I ever put down the Dead Space remake after buying it at launch, but I picked it back up. I'm on Chapter 5 and what a fantastic game. Sad to hear it didn't do well and we won't see more remakes of the franchise or a new entry. 😑

I had never played the first one, but as soon as I started the remake I was OBSESSED with it. I played through the Dead Space remake and Dead Space 2 in, like, a week. Then I started the 3rd one and after maybe 2hrs gave up on it. lol

It's so gooood! I really hoped they would remake them all, 2 would have been insane looking like that, and 3 might've recieved some much needed tweaks and improvements to bring it inline with the rest of the series, alas!

Was the reason it was deemed to not have done well that they were charging £80 for it and so lots of people waited until it wasn't an insane price? Surely they made a profit, but just not big enough a profit? I've got it installed and lined up for a rainy day

Calypso Protocol was the game that was bundled with my PS5 so I definitely played it through. What a great game.

Dead Space was the game that got me into horror games. I mean, I'm a pansy, so I still just dabble, but they used to be just a "nope" genre for me. I played the entire trilogy. Very few complaints. ^_^ Haven't played the remake, but I've seen the behind-the-scenes stuff about it. SO AWESOME!

It was a perfectly done remake. As much as I love the original, I think they did an incredible job capturing what made it work while also updating it for some QoL improvements and small expansions.

Original is brilliant and 2 and 3 aren’t too shabby. I got most of the way through the remake (Steam Deck) but got stuck on a tricky part with very limited ammo and have not been back. May revisit from scratch and start on lower difficulty. No idea why it didn’t do well though. Excellent game.

by any chance, did you play the original? much to my delight, they did away with one of the most absurd parts of the game. the remake was so flippin' great. i replayed ds2 soon after and yup....it still holds up.
