I wish they were. I'm basically at the point that all the effort I also put in to keep trump out made no difference. So what's the point? I'm operating here minimally to see what's real news and commenting sometimes. But it's not like before.

I dwell in the same spot. I was encouraged by seeing Laura Gillen win a seat in Congress (4th District/Nassau) over her corrupt GOP candidate tho. My one bright spot.

Suffolk here too. I spent lots of weekends door knocking the entire Island. Laura Gillen was only win. Pretty sure there were GOP ringers running Dem. John Avalon was a joke. Zero community reach out. No volunteer events despite reach outs & email was used for donation asks This needs to change.

I agree. I wasn't sure about Avlon but I am now. I'm just so sick of all this. I have trouble not being disgusted about 100 times each day.

Ikr? This election cycle was very disillusioning. I’ve lost my faith in people & institutions. Politics here seemed to be money grab for most 2025 I’m going smaller, concentrating on more local. There has to be more like minded people who want politicians to work for the people who elected them?!

The rot starts locally and the GOP will start to get the picture once they see MORE Dems show up to vote on the local and off-cycle elections. Trust me - if there is a tidal wave of Dem voters showing up they will start to read the tea leaves and see that they cannot get away with the malarkey.
