draconian tariffs imposed and removed at random based on day-to-day whims is the ideal tariff policy for trump because it permits you to trade on pure insider information

It also allows Trump to reward/punish people arbitrarily, and to get powerful people to debase themselves to him in order to be rewarded (or not punished), which is like catnip to him.

It is very unclear to me how robust and responsive the chain of events between a daily tariff announcement and actual money changing hands over an actual shipping container really is.

I think the way you profit off the insider info is simply short term options trading on the effected corps.

I will add the caveat that I don’t think that the Trump family themselves trade on the info. It is good for Trump because other people trade on the info and they like him and treat him better because he gives them the info

People have not realized - it was all a gift from start to whatever end. And Musk/DOGE/Bought/Federalist Society are viable only as long as the grift stays intact.
