A system hinging on ever lasting economic growth, always in need of more energy, the more the merrier - exponentially so - will not find it near impossible to deal with the polycrisis. On a side note, it is strange Forbes decide to report in primary energy demand numbers. Those make no sense.

It makes no sense in terms of what needs to be replaced. Unfortunately it makes plenty of sense while discussing planetary impact.

There is something irresistible about those instant energy fossil hydrocarbons that seem to go too well with our current high energy intensity and short sightness societies. Though a dollar put into PV will give you more useful energy than a dollar worth of oil. Over 30 years, that is.
