This is a book review? Seems like the writer went way outside their lane.

Could have been written by David Brooks, but was actually written by his dad, George Will.
holy shit
Some real Francis Fukuyama End-of-History shit
As I point out in the book I'm working on now, using several reviews from elites like that including the Clinton White House big-wig who wore "Nixonland is over. Obamaland, anyone?", that sort of fetishization of its alleged consensus is a major media contribution to how we got this way.
It’s fun to read that review and see the line “ we are not living in Agnew’s world” when the logical endpoint of his demonisation of the media is Trumps was against the press and the very idea of “truth”. And the media refs Agnew started working then have throughly rolled over to the right
Especially funny the Times not realising how throughly they have been worked over till they are lapdogs for fascism
The emerging Democratic majority!
Let me know what you think.
Wait, who got mad at stating LBJ had a large role in getting civil rights legislation passed?
did some googling and found this - www.nytimes.com/2008/01/13/u...
if you google "Hillary 'It took a president to get it done'" you'll see more stuff about it
The media, led by the New York Times:
That came from the Hillary Clinton campaign. Clinton — and I believe this was her idea — said something to the effect that Dr. King was important, but American needed a President (i.e. her) to make law & policy out of King’s/Obama’s lofty ideals. As a campaign argument, this went nowhere.
Yeah that definitely took up some news cycles near the bitter end of the primary
There’s a long term historical argument that must be drilled into the center and the left: heroes are not enough to make change. Allies in office are necessary. The rightwing voters understand this.
wow - who is the critic? I wonder if they're still around
George Will lol
ha! 😂
