It's literally not false, I even gave you a source. Elon Musk, as an individual, literally bought the government. He can manipulate the stock market with a tweet. You think he has no say in it when he's proposing alternate government projects just so he can literally shut down rail projects?

There are no rail projects which threaten automobiles in the US, you're living in a fantasy world if you think otherwise.

Florida has literally been expanding passenger rail for commuting for years, other states are expanding to.

And none of them are "threatening" the car culture in the US. None of them.

There's a massive urbanist movement growing, whether you see it or not. Young people are going longer without getting licenses, we're car pooling more often. Cars aren't the symbol of freedom they were in the 70s, we know they're merely the keys to a jail cell that cars themselves built around us.

More and more cities are eliminating parking minimums and building protected bike lanes. Some are doing road diets. Even a hellscape like DFW has increasing train ridership. You can be part of this solution too and make it go faster, so long as you put your energy into it.

Great, it's still not going to change the car culture in the US in any significant way in our lifetimes. And, to the main point, it will have zero effect on how many cars Elon, or anyone else will sell, which still invalidates your entire premise which started this discussion.

What an incredibly naïve and uninformed statement. Demand for cars is tied to their necessity. American car culture was constructed by the auto industry, not a natural occurrence. If it couldn't be undone, PU wouldn't have bitched about it "dying." Urbanism is here, get with the times.
