Yes, they are selfish, ignorant, and horribly indoctrinated to believe very stupid things. I hope there is some problem solving skills in their heads but I have yet to see it and I am losing hope. The human race is a fucking disaster.

The disasters get all the headlines, but there are lots of good people out there. The problem may well be that those with less are generally kinder than the wealthy. A friend told me yesterday that she had pulled into a rest area so her dog could pee, and there was
someone there living in his truck cab who also had a dog. He *might* have been developmentally disabled, but he came over and asked her if she had enough food for her dog, told her how important it was to care for animals, and offered to share his dog's food if she needed it. I have heard
someone say that the hardest part of being poor is having nothing to give. Remembering that in these times of cruelty and stupidity much worse than a developmental disability is one of the things that make it easier for me to hold on to hope. May you find things that strengthen you.
Ty. I am trying. It's just really hard.
As Samwise Gamgee said to Frodo: There's good in the world, Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for. I know I'm not Frodo, but I'm trying to be Sam.
Um that LOTR, right? I haven't read it, tho I tried. But I understand the sentiment.
LOTR indeed. It's especially appropo these days. We are watching what was green and good being turned into darkness. The oligarchy recognizes it, or they would not have created Palantir. I used to think I would have liked living in Middle-Earth, but not without wizards and elves.
