Did we have a fascist in the White House during any of those election cycles? Did we have a Congress and Supreme Court unwilling to curtail the obvious insanity of the person making the rules at the time? Did any of those men, or the ones still in office, want to be a dictator? Apples and oranges.

No, Afghanistan came first, in 2001, after 9/11. Iraq started in 2003. W was elected in 2000 and took office in 2001. He got re-elected in 2004.
