Am I the only one who thinks the melody of the verses in Chappell Roan's (very good) "The Subway," is almost the same as Keane's "Somewhere Only We Know?"

You are not alone. That's exactly what I thought when I heard it too. Played "Somewhere Only We Know" right afterwards and it's so close. Not a bad melody to be compared to imo!
