The design trend of removing any character or personality from branding for the sake of “minimalism” and being taken “seriously” is a big pet peeve of mine. It’s ok to have a weird lil guy in your logo.

Like someone else said, most rebrands are just key jingling for bored investors.
Ughhh that’s too accurate
they fucking removed the barrel AND the cracker next to it
these companies no longer seek brand identity, but rather conformity they are all mostly owned by larger umbrella corporations, so "standing out" is meaningless to them, they're just widgets in a portfolio
I agree but I’ve also seen plenty of designers lean into this trend and look down on anything more unique
they're cowards
Ugh, they've even sucked nearly all the personality out of the type, despite them staying very close to the original letterforms.
it's called "blanding"
Love this phrasing
It's still for crackers
I'm excited for the new Kirby Air Riders game but the logo is abysmal they took all the cute balloony text out of the Kirby name and it just looks like a stockholder slideshow title now
It bother me so so much!!
"Graphic design is just choosing fonts right" Ugh unironically yes it would seem
