It is said short stories are more difficult to write. Yet when I read any of Roald Dahl's (Kiss Kiss, Someone Like You) the simplicity of the form is excruciating.

Painful and agonizing to reproduce. Because short form imo requires a lazer focus to the finish line.

I can write shorts. have even published a couple. but yes absolutely they're excruciating, especially when you're a king-winded novelist
