Or is he simply entitled to some privacy? Now, if people close to him don’t know, especially Lois, yeah, that’s pretty hard to justify. But she knows in most iterations now 👇

I was going to say, Give the dude some private space in his head and his life when he walks among the Earthlings! Let him enjoy being a kind of anonymous human every once in a while. Let him work a job. Sure, he's got the fortress and all, but it sounds pretty lonely. Agree about Lois, though.

In a post-truth world, is all of this okay and acceptable for one of our greatest symbols? I really, really liked @brianmbendis.bsky.social’s story of Clark revealing his civilian to the public for this discourse, and I wish it had remained the status quo, honestly 👇

And what I love most of all is all the different ways we can interpret the secret identity thing as Superman’s status as a symbol and a modern myth. What does it say about us now and at the time of Superman’s creation? Anyway, fuck yeah Superman

Someone told me the other day that as a kid they could never get into Superman because he doesn't really have a conflict. As in, nothing can stop him except Kryptonite, so there's little vulnerability and thus, little drama. Your thoughts?

My honest thought is that none of that is true for the right writer
