It's astonishing to me that so few people run on policies that, you know, actually help people, rather than punish them. It's clear that voters like Progressive policies so why not, uh, run on them?
The biggest thing is that America is built top to bottom to be skeptical of gov power, so endless veto points, & voters like good things but don’t actually connect them with policy, so are too diffuse for accountability & bad at tracking complicated outcomes Plus we’re ~40% fascist always so
