I think the COURTS are up to the job. But don’t be surprised when trump tells Bondi that DOJ cannot enforce orders (if it comes to that) for whatever reason. Or for no reason at all.

That's the biggest worry! Who enforces if this Dictator & his enablers refuse to follow rulings? It used to be the DOJ and SCOTUS, as separate and independent co powers. My answer is yes and no. To me it seems there’s some courts that are pushing back against some of the extreme things that’s happening. Then this administration will appeal the ruling to a higher court and sometimes it’s overruled. Let’s also remember the extreme right on the Supreme Court.

I think defenders of the constitution are going to have to show up at the courts in support of those judges when the day comes. I've been thinking we didn't take the threat of Jan 6 serious enough prior to it occurring. We should have been there standing beside the Capitol police that day.

The courts are not up to the task. Sadly the final say lays at the feet of SCOTUS which the majority was perfectly fine to give a criminal like Trump immunity. So, no I have zero hope the courts will do the right thing. The final guard rail was the American people on election day & that failed.

I believe the lower courts and appellate courts are up to the task. They have shown they are so far. I have less faith in SCOTUS. This court has been stacked by Trump, with the help of Mitch McConnell to be Trumps last line of defense. It is difficult to know what they will do constitutionally.

Me too. Judicial decisions are swayed by the political leanings of the judges. Look at Judge Aileen Cannon for example. A lot depends on the jurisdictions where certain cases are tried. Additionally any new court appointees are likely to be republican appointees resulting in right leaning courts.
