Has anyone tried to get a passport renewed recently? Wondering if that process has been impacted by cuts?
Has anyone tried to get a passport renewed recently? Wondering if that process has been impacted by cuts?
No problem renewing a long expired one, too expired to do online, went in person, take copious copies like the state dept passport website instructions say. If you have your former expired book, it helps. Long lines. Took about a month, non-expedited.
Beginning May 7 you must have a RealID to fly in the USA. You can only make an appt 3 mos before it expires. Mine expires May 16. I call for an appt. First available is May 12. And you still have to wait for the ID in the mail. I leave for my 50th birthday cruise 5/10! Thank God I have a passport!
I got mine this month, expedited, got it in 4.5 weeks, better than expected.
Just applied for a new passport as old one is long expired. So had to start process from scratch. I'm in Palm Springs, CA and did most of the paperwork on my computer. It was pretty easy, and I booked an apt at the PS Library. That took about 30 mins. Asked the guy if they'd been affected. Not yet.
Application Status: In Process, says it takes 4-6 weeks. We'll see.
I just mailed my renewal yesterday, so I’ll let you know! 👍
Trying to get a realID and it’s impossible. There are no appointments. I was thinking of trying for a passport next but I am concerned about the wait time on that too
Me too, I just applied for a new passport. I'm not traveling until the end of June but hopefully it won't take that long. Although with Trump screwing up everything, you never know.
I renewed mine online about 6 weeks ago. It came in the mail within 2 weeks. I applied in person for the kids a few weeks ago and still waiting. Good luck!
Good point!
Got my pic today. Plan to renew online since they’re cutting staff. I assume a computer will process faster than a human being.
I did it for a minor, so like a new application, and had to go in person for document submission. No issues, faster than expected. Somehow though I doubt it will stay this easy for long.
We applied for our 13yo daughter in December, & you receive it in 3 parts. We didn't expedite application. We received 2 (birth certificate and walket passport) of the 3 (actual passport still not received) returns. Also waiting on large tax return check. Says it's ready to cut, but not received.
I sent my renewal in after the current administration took office. I got it back in the usual time. I think it took about 3-4 weeks.
My daughter applied for a new passport, it took about 5 weeks . This was just after January 20th when she got everything turned in.
I just renewed it last month online. I just received it last week. I figured it would have taken months. My wife renewed hers as well a couple weeks ago so waiting to see how long that takes. Next, my kids, but we all have to coordinate going to the PO.
I just renewed mine - filled out form on line, took it to post office and they made sure all was complete and put it in an envelope so it was flat with no folds. I requested expedited processing. Application was received on March 12 and I had my new passport by March 23.
In North Carolina the passport office is like the oil companies. If demand goes down they raise the price to increase their revenue. If demand goes up they raise the price to increase their revenue. Catch 22.
Got it done in January. Wasn’t taking any chances. It only took a few weeks.
Just applied for renewal last weekend (for obvious reasons) am wondering same. They responded that it will be the standard 4-6 weeks. We'll see...
Got ahead of it and renewed a yr ago
The last time I had a current one was 35 years ago, so I think I might need a new one. 😓
Just got my American passport renewed, received it last week. I think I submitted it online about 5 weeks ago. I was shocked it came so fast. But do it NOW.
I qualified to do mine online. Submitted everything on 3/9 and received it this week.
I renewed February by mail and got it back in the 6 weeks.
That's a good thought. I'm probably too disorganized to get one, though.
It's not as hard as you would think Passport application form ID and copy of ID Copy of birth certificate (or old passport) Passport fees Passport photo. I got all my copies taken care of at the library, and most offices will take photos there day of for you.
No, but... On Nov 7, for no particular reason🤥, I visited our county clerk's office with my expired passport & requested expedited processing. New passport arrived 11/16. 💙GratefulForOurGovtWorkers
Gives me hope. Mine is expired (and has been for a few years now), but both the county clerk's office and my local library offer passport "renewal" services. I have to call to ask for info and required paperwork. (That could be a problem since I moved and misplaced original birth certificate!)
Go for it! I was in the same shape (& had been discouraged by the procedure at USPS). Ordered my birth certificate online from that county/state. Best of luck to you🤞🏼
My dad was in the Air Force, so I was born in El Paso, Texas, before he and Mom came home to PA. I was surprised at how easy it was to get a replacement birth certificate from Texas, given the attitude about "illegals" down there!
That's very good news!
It’s fine
A friend sent in a new application about 10 days ago, got a confirmation email today. Supposed to be 2-4 weeks before she gets it. But that's if their old auto-generated emails are still correct.
Have sent renewal application online 3 weeks ago. Nothing yet, but still within the timeframe of normal processing. We’ll see🤷🏼♀️
You can track your passport applicstion here: travel.state.gov/content/trav...
What about getting (not renewing) a REAL ID? Any info or update on this?? 😊🌻
You will need one to board a plane by the beginning of May 2025. Usually obtained at DMV
Thank you Sue’
If you are unable to obtain one a valid passport will also work 👩🏻🦰✈️
Last summer (2024) I happened to be in 2 different post offices and overhear family groups told their passport appointment was canceled. They’d taken off work, gathered their kids & all documents, only to learn they’d need to gamble on another appointment or online.
PLEASE, PLEASE everyone- apply for your passport immediately!!! If this executive order gets any traction, Congress will push H. R. 22, then our right to vote will be dictated through exec, and Congress leaving only Judiciary to fight it. Ladies especially!!!!
To get my driver's license after moving to a new state, I needed my birth certificate and marriage license to prove my last name but could not locate either document. It took a couple of months to request and recieve copies of documents. Same will be needed to vote if this is passed. Prepare now.
True...and as a married woman, your name will not match your CERTIFIED birth certificate. A marriage license is not currently on the list of "accepted" documents. In some red states, you must have your ex's permission to take back your name.
I had six years left on my passport, I checked it before Trump took over otherwise I would’ve gotten it renewed
In the middle of it now Received a notice that they’ve gotten our’s but we have a voice so hoping our 1A rights don’t hold it up
I mailed my application to the Embassy in Paris on March 21. (That’s the only way to renew for expats in France.) I got an email on March 23 from the passport agency in the US saying they received my application and documents, and on the 25th they emailed again to say my passport was mailed.
Dang yours was fast! They got mine on the 10th of March and no word yet on mailing it
Any news about yours??
None yet, last I checked it was still processing 🥲
Dang. 😪 I didn't even get expedited service for mine, it's not available here. I'm just amazed at how quickly mine went.
Mine was a new passport as well as the one for my 2 year old, so maybe that's why it's taking longer. The last time I had a passport was almost 20 years ago 😅
Passport book and card arrived today! From Lyon to Paris to the US and back, all in 11 days!
The email said to expect it to arrive here in Lyon within the next two weeks. By the way, passport book and passport card are mailed separately.
I renewed my in 2024. I am good for another 10 years, thank God.
I actually sent my renewal in on 3/7. Online and easy to do. But I'm not sure when (if) I'll receive it. 🙄
Renewal arrived in 2 weeks! It’s not broken yet. Get it while you can.
Did it very recently because of course I should. Actually had no issues and came pretty fast.
Renewed, no. But I got my daughter one…and almost every parent of a female child I teach has recently gotten a passport for their child. We know what’s coming and we are terrified.
Can you share more about the reasons why these parents were compelled to be prepared in this way? Curious about what parents are thinking in other parts of the country. I’m in Texas.
America is quickly becoming a fascist nation. Women and girls do not fare well under fascism.
Very true. Thank you!
I renewed mine right after the election eventhough I had 4 years remaining on it because I was worried the process may become FUBAR. I used FedEX expedited. Expensive but the speed and tracking was worth it.
I made an appointment at a local PO with a 3 week wait time. Appointment last week. Email from the state department acknowledging receipt of my application and estimating a 4-6 week turnaround. I would recommend applying or renewing ASAP before staff reductions slow the process.
I got mine right before the inauguration. It took 3 weeks with expedited shipping. I worry about what it is now. Same with social security, the VA, Medicaid etc.
The applications at the post office were being reprinted to only allow sex choices to be male or female now. What a waste of $$ for such a silly thing.
Can you renew a passport on line if you have one that expired a few years ago ? Any help would be appreciated greatly. Thanks in advance.
Yes up to 5 years expired. We did our online and it was fast and easy.
let us all know how it goes for you! i let my passport lapse, because i became mobility disabled and figured my flying days were over. but now emergency exit looms and i may need to fly, even if i don’t think my body is up for it. sad times in the usa.
Yes - recommend using OPR(Online passport renewal) if you’re not expecting to travel soon. It took exactly 4 weeks (Feb-Mar). If you have travel, recommend you go in person and request expedited which is expensive, but guaranteed. This is definitely one of the services I’m most concerned about.
I did it the week after election. Took two weeks. Can’t say what it is now.
I had mine renewed the week of the inauguration and was glad I did it then. Came back within a week
It's been a year since we renewed ours. Expected to spend full day in line at post office BUT found out that we could go to our County Register of Deeds. No appointment needed. Added small fee to cost. They took photo. In & out in about an hour.
Renewing mine now. Will report back.
I just renewed mine and paid for it to be expedited and got it within 3 weeks. But that was four weeks ago!
my kids and husband got 1st passport & card within 4 weeks. I submitted my renewal & it started processing within 3 days
Thanks for reminding me!
My son just sent his paperwork in this week, so we will see.
I renewed mine online, got new one in 21 days.
I renewed mine online on Feb 17. I was worried, but got my new one in less than 4 weeks.
Yes, and I needed a new one because the previous had expired. It took about 4 weeks. I haven’t gotten my birth certificate back yet, though.
Mine is in process. Hoping it goes well and kicking myself for not getting it done last year.
Applied to new one as old was out of renewal period early Feb. Appointments at post offices to submit new are really getting pushed out. I got my passport this past week but didn’t get my original documents submitted back til today.
Wait … I didn’t know it could go out of a renewal period? I thought if you had an expired passport, you just renewed it? Ruh Roh
We need to renew our passports. However, we are procrastinating bcuz who knows how any updated data will be used by the Mysk🐀🐀 now. And what happens to USa stolen databases when they finally leave. Any suggestions?
My opinion is you need a passport! Everyone needs a passport.
Agree. We have passports they are recently expired. Yes, we are 💙crew.

In January about a week before the inauguration. Got it back in February.
My spouse just received their renewal today. Just took several weeks and got tracking on it so we knew when it came.
No idea But good topic to Bring up
I just renewed online and got it on about 2 weeks - I was afraid to wait
My husband and I did ours online. Didn’t want to give up our physical ones in fear that we might never get new ones. Painless process with a two week turn around time!
I just applied for one my first ever last week . With expedited delivery and insurance. Approval and paperwork in my inbox overnight. I made an appointment with my library to have to have it mailed in.
I applied for my 1st passport at 64 yrs old last week. Only 1 woman works in passport applications in main branch of post office in Lexington KY. Said they let everyone go when covid hit and never hired anyone back.
It actually isn't that bad. The Trump administration has streamlined the process
I’m renewing mine online. Got lol my stuff ready today & hitting the site tomorrow. I’ll let you know how it goes.🙏🏻
**Update: Let’s just say the “waiting for the next customer rep is less than 3 hours” certainly gave me pause BUT, put it on speaker phone & finished planting in my flower beds, cleaned the deck, porch & patio for m 3yr-old grandson’s BDay party here tomorrow & 4 hours later- NOTHING! 😡
My husband renewed his passport recently. It only took 2-3 weeks with an extra fee for expedited service. Who knows what's ahead, though.
I’m wondering the same thing. Of course it has. Any agency designed to assist us has been decimated or crippled!
My wife did the online renewal about a month ago. Took about 2 weeks to get the new one.
I’m waiting to hear back from them. It’s been maybe a month and a half. Meanwhile they say my old one is no good.
I plan to get my digital photo this weekend and to submit online 🤞
Dont let your passport expire!!! If you do, you have to go into a passport office with a birth certificate, picture ID (like it's not on your old passport), and whatever else they want at the moment. Still online and shows 4-6 weeks. www.usa.gov/renew-adult-...
My husband sent his off 2 weeks ago and received an email this week saying he would have it by the 31st.
Did he expedite? Or just the regular renewal?
Regular renewal, but he got a passport and a passport card.
Hmmm…all I know is they cashed my check. I hope I get an email soon, it’s been three weeks.
I don't recall getting emails either when I renewed mine last year.
I mailed my renewal in on 3/21 - non-expedited, tracking. A friend sent hers in and received it within a month
Can keep you posted. They said 4 to 6 weeks today, which is the normal time frame.
I renewed online in Jan before inauguration and it was very smooth except for my photo (taken at Walgreens) being rejected. I went and got a new one taken at CVS and had my new passport in less than a few weeks.
We received one in about two weeks from when we renewed it. Still waiting on a second one.
I am in the process of trying, will let you know if it goes well.
Yes, a friend’s daughter who’s an American citizen had her passport confiscated and all documents when she went in to renew her passport. No explanation, just confiscated.
My wife just got one renewed and it seemed like a normal process.
Yes I got it back in less than 4 weeks, about two weeks ago. No issues. Wanted to do it before things get even worse
My wife and I both renewed online on the same day, March 9th. Hers arrived 8 days later in the mail and mine has yet to be processed at all.🧐
I just did an online renewal and everything went smoothly and quickly.
So far okay. My dame and her ma recently got theirs' renewed in a timely manner. But we're just starting out with these criminals.
I am having a hell of a time bc of my name change from marriage... this year will be our 10 year anniversary 🙄 Social change, no problem 10yrs ago. I moved my maiden name to replace my middle name and took my hubs last name. Dmv says get passport changed, passport says get license changed😤
Don't waste your time. Nobody wants Americans in their country
Looks like we may need it to vote if the orange menace gets his way.
Even if we aren't planning to travel married women may soon need a passport to vote.
*married women who changed their last name, that is.
Order the passport card too! @joycewhitevance.bsky.social
And carry it with you in the US. Simple proof of citizenship.
I was worried about this as well, but I was able to get both my kids first time passports in around 4 weeks. We are still waiting to get their birth certificates back though. 😬
If not they'll get around to it soon it will make having positive ID to use to vote more difficult
Yup, they are really small now. 😂😂
I did. It arrived within a few weeks.
I renewed mine through the online process in February, and it took 15 business days from start to finish, I was pleasantly surprised!
I renewed before Jan. 20, two year earlier than I needed to, because I was worried about how the department would be impacted.
Submitted mine March 6th. Told me it was shipped a day ago.
Eta is March 31st
Please keep everyone posted. Good luck!
Just got the passport, but I didn't get my old one back OR my birth certificate (freaking out)
When my daughter renewed hers in Jan the old passport and b.c. came back a couple of days later in a different envelope, so don't worry just yet.
I just got it today! Thank you for the note!
Thank you!
Currently in the process through an online service. Truthfully, had I known then what I know now, I wouldn't have used the organization that I have. I am waiting for them to send my finished paperwork for mailing to government. Glad I'm not in a hurry.
I renewed mine recently, and actually received it within a month...maybe I got lucky!
I have one in process. It's too early to tell for mine, but my sone put hid in a few weeks earlier and it went through just fine.
We applied for ours 2 weeks ago. Got notified they received the application… so waiting to see.
I just renewed mine. I was worried about the timeline so I paid extra to expedite. It took a total of 11 days.
I had to do a new application and it took less than a month. I would do it quickly before things get worse.
still waiting for my daughter's since before christmas
No but I need to do it & hadn’t considered how f’d up that might now be!!!!!!
My husband and I need to renew. There’s a question on the renewal about if you’re married. Really in a quandary as to whether or not we should answer this question truthfully.
Why wouldn’t you answer truthfully? Has your marital status changed since you got your current passport? It is not recommended to create a reason to be disqualified by committing perjury.
No, but same sex marriage is on the chopping block. We were registered domestic partners in Washington, but they converted all those registrations to marriages a few years back. It’s complicated. We had an issue coming back from Canada a couple of years ago before the US recognized us.
I see. I kept my birth name when I married. For me, that had been my ID for 40 years, still is. Sometimes I am addressed by my husband’s name: that’s not me. Understandable that you don’t want to draw attention at this time. I’m sorry this is a worry for you. Crazy. Oppressive. Wasted energy.
It won't be your marriage that will be a problem. It's only if you changed your name from your birth name that will be a problem. They are after trans people and the proposed SAVE act would keep you from registering to vote if you changed your name.
Outrageous.
Yep. They are trying to disenfranchise anyone who changed their name from their birth certificate. So, if you're a woman who changed her name to her husband's upon her marriage, she had better change it back to be eligible to vote.
I renewed mine in October. I knew what was coming.
Me too
I got my daughter’s rendered in February, and it arrived in March, although we have not gotten her birth certificate and paperwork back yet.
I did. I sent it in in January and to my complete shock I not only got it back I got it back in 10 days. I expected problems. I did it before he was sworn in. May be all jacked up now
I just renewed earlier this month. I was concerned about delays too, but was pleasantly surprised how quickly they turned it around (about two weeks!).
I did (mine was expired but within the five-year window) and it was incredibly easy and quick, Did it all online, had it in two weeks.
I just got one before the problems. Under the wire.
My Congresswoman Shontel Brown held a passport registration event in our district. I applied and my application was submitted on 3/13. Was told it would take 4 to 6 weeks. Fingers crossed 🤞!
🤦🏻♀️
I mailed my renewal application on 2/28,requested to be expedited and got my new passport on 3/4.
I got my expired passport renewed in 2.5 weeks.
We're doing ours this weekend. Not that we're going anywhere, but it's nice to have that little blue booklet.
I got a new one for my son and it took almost exactly a month, so not too bad.
We just renewed mine and got new ones for my kids 2 weeks ago. Did it at the Chicago Passport Office. They were very professional and got them done same day.
Renew it online. Its quick and easy
Did that last year. Agreed, it was an easy process
Before trump though
Correct.
You can only do this if you meet certain criteria. I would if I could. Mine expires in late 2026, so hopefully I Sept 2025 the state dept still exists.
I have that same situation. State dept reps at Travel Show said online requires to be within the year. If you mail it in, they will process, as long as its at least 5 years old.
If I wasn’t planning to travel internationally in June…I’d just go for it…and be hopeful. As soon as I get back, I’m sending for renewal.
Yeah, I was about to say don’t wait, do it sooner rather than later!
Same for me, travel in June and need to renew before a Sept trip, I can only hope and pray…
🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Yes, but by mail. You have 5 years after it expires to renew it by mail. If more than that, you need to go to the office. I got an email saying it will take 6 weeks.
I got mine in December by mail, and it took about 3 weeks. So, Team Efficiency has managed to double the time it takes to process.
If you’re as pleased as i was with the ease of renewing your passport online, thank the folks at alt18f.bsky.social
My renewal, which I initiated in early February, took about a month.
My friend went direct to the office because she had a last minute trip to Canada and they did it the same day.
My wife did the new online process and it was very smooth
I can renew online, but I can’t change last name.#ugh
Took my husband since Jan 20.. just got it
I was surprised to get mine online without a hitch, in about 8 weeks.
Think about it every day. And a one way ticket
Me too.
Yes - it was a zoo at the passport acceptance facility (we had to do my kids in person). Literally standing room only with lines out the door. We went with standard vs. expedited for a trip the end of June - really hope that won’t come back to bite us.
It hasn't yet, our niece got an expedited renewal on the same day last month
Ugh no I went thru a name change and need to get my passport fixed. I don't think I'll be able to at this point. 🏳️🌈
I has no problem.
I submitted my online renewal in 3/18 and it arrived in the mail today. The official notification said 4-6 weeks plus 1-2 weeks for regular mail, so I was very surprised to received it in nine days. Also, I received email updates as the renewal was progressing through the steps. Very smooth.
I think it's still moving, but unclear for how long.
We renewed at the embassy in the UK. It took two weeks.
No problem. I got mine within 2-3 weeks.
I renewed that shit the day after he won in November.
Sooner vs later. Once all the cuts kick in, it could take awhile I also did it online last year, it took a week!!! Shocked!!!
Not yet.
Mine expired several years ago. I applied for a new one and have been waiting 4 weeks now.
My husband just got his renewed. He did it at our neighborhood post office. Took about 3.5 weeks to have it sent to him. Not too bad.
I sent in my application a few weeks ago & received a reply pretty quickly that it was in process & I should receive it in 4 to 6 weeks.
Mailed my renewal application in mid-February, department received it four days later. My new passport arrived a day over four weeks later (average processing is 4 to 6 weeks.) I was pleasantly surprised!
About 6 Mo hrs ago I was able to use the new online process and it took less than 4 weeks I’m sure all that is gone now
I just got my Global Entry card renewed and had it approved within 48 hours.
Just renewed mine online and it took about 3 weeks.
My family all just got our first passports and we paid for expedited because we were worried about the impact from the cuts and wanted it done ASAP. We just got them in the mail today and our appointment to submit was 2 weeks ago. Waiting for the 1st appointment was longer than the gov process.
I was wondering that, too.
Just updated mine for my kids, didn’t take exceptionally long, just the standard 3-6 weeks
Yes. Extremely fast. A week. Amazing.
Renewed my almost 5 year old’s passport in late January/early February and received it in about 5 weeks. Passport arrived by stealth from Arkansas (it was “moving through network” for more than a week before it was delivered).
TSA Precheck app renewal said the backlog could be as long as 6 months.
Want to but I figure I’m too late. Afraid to try as I think I have to relinquish my old one which hasn’t expired yet.
I mailed my renewal request along with my old passport in early February. I was really anxious about it but it did come in about three weeks. I suspect as time passes, that too will become much more difficult.
We recently renewed both of our pp, my husband and I, through the portal and received our passports without issue. My next step is to get my RealId, which seems to be harder to get than a passport.
My Enhanced ID came in less than 2 weeks. RealID is just for US. Enhanced includes Canada, Mexico and Caribbean
Once you have a passport, Real ID isn't hard at all. You'll need the passport plus proof of residence (such as utility bill in your name, mortgage payment, real estate tax bill in your name).
No, but I can tell you that a first class pkg via USPS used to take 3 days to get from NC to NM. Package I sent last Thursday arrived in Albuquerque today. Seven days. Get ready people.
Priority Mail is the only way to go.
Shoulda coulda
My appt is next week.
And since this administration is limiting valid IDs, will this lead to longer wait times for new passports? I think we need a consolidated effort to help folks get their paperwork, whether a passport, etc. Are there organizations that do this now? Would be interested in supporting them.
Yes. People who have changed their names will have little choice if they want to vote.
Renewed online in early March and received a couple of weeks later. Once in process the current passport is nullified. Mine did not have 6 months on it which I thought would affect it but the process was quick.
My son. So I had to submit all the documents. It been “in process” for over a month, and they aren’t emailing updates at all. The check cleared quickly though.
My passport isn’t due to expire until 2028 but I wonder if I should renew now?
I renewed my son's passport right after the election election was Tuesday I made the appointment on Wednesday we had the appointment on Friday and it was back inside my hands inside of about 2 weeks- but again, this was back in November.
Yes… received mine 2 weeks ago. It was still efficient. Perhaps the changes haven’t hit yet.
If you find out, Joyce, will you post it? I want to be sure to renew mine before it expires.
I just renewed mine online about a month ago and have received it. It went very smoothly and they provided updates as it was processing.
That's why I made sure to renew mine last year. I might need it. This can't go on for four years, surely. It's been just over 2 months and even Canada hates us! Canada doesn't hate anyone. ;(
My husband's came in about 3 weeks.
Just renewed an expired passport online 4/20. Took about 4 weeks total, including mailing both ways.
oops, that would be 2/20
Had a student get one the other day. Once they got an appointment and paid expedited it went pretty quickly.
I'll know soon. People have to be aware of new rules. No glasses or smiles on your photo! I now scowl like 47!
No turtlenecks, either
I’m getting ready to and I’m concerned how long they will drag the process out. My gut says this federal agency is going to make it really difficult.
I renewed mine online and received it in two weeks.
I am going to cuz it expires in June. I’m going to do it electronically so I can keep the old one. It’s not valid once you apply for new one but in this environment I may never get a new one!
That’s still been ok, but I would renew ASAP if possible.
I did in NYC and it took 4 weeks on line to do. Feb22-March 22
Thank heavens, I renewed mine the minute the election results were in and it was very quick. I’d be curious to see what it’s like now.
Important!! If your married name and your birth certificate don’t match and Congress passes the SAVE Act, you won’t be able to vote without a passport. Another voter suppression tactic.
Having the foresight renewing my US Passport BEFORE 1/17/2025 was an awesome blessing: I received my new passport around 2/10/2025 and the Passport ID Card arrived later on 2/27/2025. I checked with the USPS Passport Rep—the Passport ID Card was egregiously delayed for no apparent reason.
I was surprised by how quickly I received my new passport after renewing online.
I can't get a new Social Security card 😡
Hubby has his coming up in May. I’ll let you know. I do know that my mom is now officially legally blind, but getting that paperwork through SS online is frightening.
I need to do it this year and am worried about it
I would assume so
We renewed in early January. Surprised that we got them back in 15 days. We are happy we did it then.
I applied for renewal of Irish passport on 13 December, 2024. It arrived from Dublin to NYC on 15 December. It did not reach me (REGISTERED MAIL!) until Jan. 2, 2025. Louis DeJoy is thankfully gone, but he screwed up the P.O. mightily--- which was his mission when Orange Doink appointed him.
Now, Orange Disgrace seems to want to privatize the P.O., putting it under Commerce Dept. It's been said, though maybe not done...YET. Absolutely dreadfully smelly idea.
Thanks for the question and all the answers. We have been procrastinating but it’s now a priority.
If you're trans & need an updated one, depending on your state, can't get one. If you're trans & need a gender marker changed, same as above. If you're enby like me & need an x marker, they've completely done away w/ that altogether. They came for us & historically, yall's turn's coming. 🤬
