I first studied “anomie” in Criminology 201. Seemed airy fairy in 1972. Seems central to the collapse of our social order in 2025 when a life long felon and pathological liar was actually chosen to rule the country. Normlessness is the norm. What “strategy” can possibly overcome that?

Smart on crime prevention works even better: investing in things that improve social determinants of health, housing, education, childcare, univeral healthcare, universal basic income, mass transportation, DEI, all paid for by taxing wealthy and corporations equalizing income inequality.
