I work with international students professionally. in fact, I just went to the NAFSA conference in San Diego a couple of months ago. The general air was one of immediate crisis, and the language used was "catastrophic". My employer is a top 50 university. We will survive. But many will not.

I really am a fan of all the good things that ERC grants have brought, and we all benefit from what comes out of these projects and the international collaborations within Europe. But actual jobs for junior scholars would also be a pretty great thing. You can still give incentives to talk to others.
